My Makeup Counter

Quite often I receive compliments on my makeup and "to me" I never really do anything special. I AM FAR FROM A MAKEUP ARTIST. My goal with this post is to only answer the questions of those who inquired about my routine. Don't get me wrong I am a beauty junkie and I am product crazy. My approach to make up is whatever gives my skin the appropriate quality is where I am going to spend my coins. I have a mixed makeup counter. I believe that with some products you don't have to break the bank on while there are some others that are better for the face at a higher price.

With makeup I truly believe you get what you pay for AND your skin type determines which direction that you need to approach with an product. Here is my facial routine!

1. Neutrogena

Whether I wear makeup or not I always cleanse my face! I have oily skin so majority of my products cater to my skin type. Not to mention that I love the grapefruit scent. :)

2. Anastasia Brow Dip & Angled Brush #7

The most important tip for filled brows is using the appropriate shade for your tone. Rarely should you EVER use black, it makes the brow too dark and brings the wrong attention.

Also when it comes to choosing a dip or pencil what I have found is that using a pencil is best when you have trouble shaping the brow. Pencils work best when you are new to the brow world. Meanwhile a dip requires the use of an angled brush (shown below) which can be more difficult to use.

3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte Foundation

I started using Maybelline Fit Me because I needed something quick and didn't have time for my usual MAC stop. I personally like the Fit Me foundation because I have oily skin and they make foundation that caters to skin type. I hate powder foundation but liquid makes me shiny! However the Fit Me Matte looks great and leaves no shine.

4. Beauty Sponge

For my beauty application, I use a sponge. I also use brushes as well for contouring but for the most part I sponge it out :).

5. LA Girl Pro Concealer

I use this Pro Concealer for highlighting and contouring. It has the perfect pigmentation and last for a good while. I use the Fawn shade for highlighting! I also use the Dark Cocoa for deep contour shading.

6. Ben Nye Luxury Powder

For a smooth finish, I use Banana and Topaz powders over the areas that I highlight. The powder sets the highlight & keeps the face in place. Banana works for most faces. I use Topaz as well because I have a reddish undertone.

7. Bobbi Brown Blush

Blush like the brows can make or break the face. You want to make sure that you are choosing a complimentary shade with a quality pigment. I use BBC and it has a great quality that mixes well with my highlight.

8. Hard Candy Bronzer

I am a big fan of a glow look so I always carry bronzer in my corner. I have used bronzers from major brands including Tarte and MAC, and by far I love the smooth shine for 6 bucks the most.

9. NYX Butter Gloss

Of all my beauty obsessions I have to say that I absolutely love NYX butter gloss! It's not thick and never cakes up on the lip. It's perfect for just adding an soft enhancement to the face.
